About us
Jersey Shore Blue first came together in January 2017, in the wake of the 2016 election and the Women’s March. Since then, we’ve been fighting the good fight—helping elect Democrats, engaging with social justice issues, providing meaningful outlets for activism, and holding monthly meetings to stay informed and connected.
We’ve evolved over time. We began as an Indivisible group, but soon discovered other organizations whose missions aligned with ours. Over the years, we’ve built strong ties with national groups like Swing Left, Vote Forward, Field Team 6, 50501 and many others. In the summer of 2024, we officially adopted the name Jersey Shore Blue to reflect our identity and mission more clearly.
Until the fall of 2024, we held our meetings in members’ homes. While our membership hovered in the 60s, in-person attendance was typically in the teens or low 20s. But since October —and especially following the Inauguration on January 20, 2025—our numbers have grown dramatically. Driven by anger, fear, frustration, and a desire for solidarity, more and more people are reaching out and joining our community.
