Pride Parade — Asbury Park, NJ

On June 1, 2025, Jersey Shore Blue participated in the annual Asbury Park Pride Parade, standing in solidarity with LGBTQ+ communities and affirming the connection between queer liberation and democratic resistance. The event provided an opportunity for public visibility, allyship, and mobilization.
Purpose of the Action
The goal of the march was to:
Support and celebrate LGBTQ+ rights and visibility
Connect the struggle for queer liberation to broader fights for justice, equity, and democracy
Promote inclusive activism and intersectional community engagement
Stand against rising political attacks on LGBTQ+ individuals and families
What Happened
Jersey Shore Blue marched alongside thousands of attendees with signs, banners, and coordinated messaging. Participants held letters spelling out “RESIST THE RIGHT” as a statement of opposition to right-wing extremism. Other signs emphasized solidarity, inclusion, and voter mobilization.
The action was joyful, highly visible, and energized by music, community presence, and expressions of pride and protest.
Community Response
Parade-goers welcomed the message of resistance and civic unity. Many stopped to take photos, cheer, and engage with Jersey Shore Blue’s volunteers. The group’s presence was featured in social media coverage and local event recaps.
Why It Matters
Amid growing legislative efforts to roll back LGBTQ+ rights, this action reinforced Jersey Shore Blue’s commitment to public solidarity and visible resistance. Pride is not only a celebration — it is a political stance against exclusion, repression, and hate.
